ASIC Chair, Maurice Dimmock, retires from ASIC after 16 years service
Our CEO thanks him for his dedication to quality education.
Dear colleagues, partners, and friends,
From our beginnings over 16 years ago as a small UK agency to our recognition as a global leader in education quality assurance and our new multi-office home in Thornaby's Regus building, Maurice and his expertise have been pivotal in the vision and development of ASIC. Through his work in education settings in the UK and roles in international development for universities, Maurice appreciated the critical role that accreditation plays in maintaining high standards to ensure that institutions provide quality learning experiences and outcomes for their students. With this mission at heart, we embarked on a path to help ensure that UK institutions upheld our reputation for world-leading standards of education quality and were preparing students for success in the global community.
Over the years, ASIC has evolved alongside the ever-changing landscape of education, growing from a single-country agency to a network of experts and institutions spanning the globe. We have developed robust accreditation programmes that align with international standards, earning the trust and recognition of education stakeholders worldwide. We expanded our reach to serve institutions in diverse regions, each with its unique educational context and challenges. Through our work, we have gained invaluable insights into the varied approaches to education quality assurance, enriching our understanding of the principles that underpin effective accreditation. Today, ASIC stands as a beacon of quality assurance in education, empowering our institutions to celebrate their commitment to quality on a world stage.
Our growth has not been merely geographical; it has also extended to the scope of our services. We have developed our offering to provide a comprehensive suite of accreditation, consultancy, and support services, including an international programme of events. Our tailored guidance, expert review processes, and proactive engagement help our institutions achieve excellence across the breadth of their operations. Throughout this journey, ASIC is, and continues to be, guided by a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and objectivity. We have always strived to provide impartial assessments based on rigorous criteria, ensuring that our decisions are fair and equitable. This unwavering commitment to trustworthiness and our care to recognise and celebrate local best practices in an international context has earned ASIC the trust of institutions and governments worldwide.
As Maurice retires from ASIC, I am confident that through our work over the last 16 years, ASIC is well-positioned for continued success. The foundation we have built is strong, and our team of dedicated education experts and professionals is committed to carrying the torch forward. ASIC will continue to play a pivotal role in driving education quality assurance standards globally, contributing to a world where access to quality education is available to all.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside Maurice as CEO at ASIC. It has been an enriching experience filled with meaningful connections, inspiring collaborations, and the satisfaction of contributing to the advancement of education. I look forward to continuing to support ASIC's mission in new ways, driving the continued growth of our international community and its impact on the global education landscape. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to ASIC's remarkable journey. I am deeply appreciative of Maurice's mentoring and support over the years, as well as the dedication of our staff, the support of our board and committee members, and the trust of our stakeholders. I am proud of the legacy we have created together.
As Maurice embarks on the next chapter of his life, I take forward the indelible memories of our collective achievements and his unwavering belief in the transformative power of education. ASIC will continue to work with our institutions for continued success and prosperity in our shared mission to foster excellence in education worldwide.
As the new year unfolds, I look forward to executing the next exciting stage in ASIC's development plans. I am confident that, together, we will continue to raise the bar for education quality and inspire others to strive for excellence.
With sincere gratitude,
Lee Hammond, ASIC CEO
