How to improve educational outcomes and enhance the international reputation of Arab Universities

Workshop Theme: Improving the Ranking of Arab Universities in Arab and International Rankings and the Mechanisms to Apply for Arab University Ranking and International Accreditations.

• Discuss how to strengthen the capacities of ranking and quality assurance activities and staff in Arab universities.
• Analyse the standards of global and Arab university rankings and accreditation.
• Explore how universities can move forward with ranking and accreditation activities, improving their placement and reputational standing.

Who are ALECSO?

Representing 22 Member States, The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) is a Tunis-based specialised institution working under the umbrella of the League of Arab States. ALECSO supports the scientific, research, and academic wealth of Arab universities by working with regional and international organisations and partners to advance higher education in the Arab world.

ASIC's work with Arab Ministries of Education and Universities

ASIC's work in the region supports the aims of ALECSO in the following areas:

• Ensure the quality of university education and its outcomes.
• Continue educational reform and improvement by providing required support and guidance.
• Evaluate universities' academic performance and their ability to meet expectations in terms of higher education development.
• Strengthen the research capacities of Arab universities, attract international students, and improve their position in major international rankings.
• Improve academic and scientific outcomes of university graduates, supplying them with an education which meets the requirements of international standards for academic disciplines and preparing them for the global job market.

ASIC is honoured to work across the Arab World with government education ministries, universities, higher education colleges and institutes, and organisations in the higher education sector in the following countries (in no particular order): Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, UAE, Tunisia, KSA, Somalia, Iraq, Qatar, Comoros, Morocco, and Mauritania.
